WHAT WE DO
SERVICES WE OFFER
Emergency Assistance

Emergencies come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it’s a job loss, a health crisis, or the loss of a spouse; other times a natural disaster impacts entire neighborhoods. No matter the cause, the Emergency Assistance program at GMHN stands ready to provide temporary assistance so neighbors can get back on their feet.
Through this program, GMHN provides emergency financial assistance for residents in our school district for rent, utilities, car repair and medical needs. The max on rent is $300 and all others $200. Annual max is $400 and lifetime is $800. Money is allotted based on need, when funds are available.
School Supply Distribution
Our school supply distribution takes place in August, two Sundays before the start of school. NBC 4 provides backpacks and a few supplies while community churches “adopt” grades and embellish the school supplies in the back pack while a few churches provide other requested items (Clorox wipes, varying sizes of ziploc bags) and lunch boxes. Eastland-Fairfield cosmetology program and their business partners provide free haircuts.

Adopt A Family

Cruiser Closets
This is a program to provide assorted essentials such as basic clothing and hygiene items for urgent circumstances based on a social workers’ discretion. The goal is to allow a child to remain in school without having to go home and possibly miss the remainder of the school day. Items include black sweatpants and leggings (all sizes 5T – adult XXL), deodorant, toothbrush/paste and feminine hygiene products. Email us at info@GMHN.org if you have items you wish to donate to this program.
